Floating armoury in Galle

Overview

The AGMS Floating Armoury (FA) MV Mahanuwara operates at Galle OPL and facilitates the storage facility for weapons, ammunitions and other security related equipment used for OBST operations.

Procedure

To facilitate Security Operations, the PMSC should sign an agreement with AGMS along with the local agent. The relevant details can be obtained from AGMS legal department on following e-mail addresses.

Flag State Approval

Flag state approval is a mandatory requirement for storing weapons onboard Mahanuwara floating armoury. The relevant details can be obtained from AGMS legal department on following e-mail addresses.

Weapon Storage

The FA has a capability to stock over 3000 weapons in secure and air-conditioned spaces. PMSCs may stow their weapons on board for up to three months without additional storage charge. Maintenance of weapons and equipment is the responsibility of the PMSC.

Accommodation

All shore accommodation requirements will be handled by the local agent.

Facilities for SMs

Local agent will provide all transport requirements and other necessary facilities to sea marshals.

Charging Structure

As per the standard charging structure, all incoming and outgoing movements will be subjected separate charging and the complete charging structure can be obtained from following e-mail addresses.
